diy: flower hairpins

This is a really simple way to add some custom flower hairpins to your collection.  I made a ton of these for my wedding for me and the bridesmaids to wear in our hair.  I thought it turned out pretty awesome and I’m going to show you how to make your own.

What you’ll need:

1. Scrapbook Flowers
2. Bobby pins
3. Hot Glue Gun
4. Felt
5. Scissors

Firstly, you will need to cut little felt squares out of your felt.  Cut them approximately 0.5″ x 0.5″ size.  You will need two felt squares per bobby pin.

Next, take a felt square and slip it inside the bobby pin and shimmy it up towards the curve.

Apply a dab of hot glue to the felt square in the bobby pin.  Place the second felt square on top of the first.  Let the glue cool to dry.

Choose the scrapbooking flower you want to attach to the bobby pin.  Apply another dab of hot glue on top of the second square of felt.  Place the flower on the bobby pin.  Hold it long enough so that it’s stabilized, about 5-10 seconds.  Be sure not to overdo it with the glue.  You wouldn’t want the glue to seep through the flower.

And there you have it!  Now you can make an obscene amount of flower hairpins.  Let your crazy daisy shine!
